| Myanmar is very interesting, its junta manages to keep a very secluded culture. I know in the Philippines officially the metric system is used, but its hard to find an average Filipino who knows their height or weight in metric, as I can attest through personal experience. They still use pounds and feet/inches, probably a legacy of american imperialism in the Philippines and the fascination of Filipino's with American life.
Not sure about the UK, but in Australia, I and my peers grew up knowing metric, but my parents, and especially others who are older still seem to be more adjusted to the old imperial system. |
