| Great quiz. I don’t think there’s any problem with needing outside information to solve it. The wording of the clues is quite problematic, however –
Connecticut’s clue is incredibly unclear – logically, any state missing today will be missing tomorrow – but obviously some of the surrounding states are missing. Moreover, I know it’s in the instructions, but it’s a bit confusing to use the terminology of ‘surrounding’ states, which could easily mean geographically surrounding. Connecticut’s clue also makes Arkansas’ clue redundant, unless your intention is to say that ‘go missing’ implies not missing today. Either way, using ‘go’ missing in one clue and ‘be’ missing in another gives the false impression that you intend a difference.
Colorado’s clue is odd- you have three options, so it’s not clear what the opposite would be. Since the answer is given by the conjunction of Connecticut and Colorado’s clues, you can just say ‘ a different status’.
There are a lot of redundant clues, including Hawaii, West Virginia, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Kansas, Rhode Island, Arkansas, Texas, Montana, Illinois, and Maine. I don’t think I needed any of those to complete the puzzle. |
