i completely agree with luke-both for the hall. havent taken a moment to compliment you yet on your silver slugger by position quizzes. really fun, and i think you're doing a service to all sporcle baseball fans by taking the time and effort to put these together-thanks!!!

whether its the office guy sneaking in a quick sporcle, or the colorado ski bum (that's me) with a lot of time on his hands-enjoying football, but definitely thinking about spring and already making plans for my fourth annual 'opening day of baseball' party in april, we all appreciate your effort to let enjoy these quizzes!!

For the life of me I don't remember Travis Fryman ever being a full time SS.

GREAT Quiz!!!! You should keep going and do them for each position!!! SS's were easy to think of because of how few could hit in the 80's and early 90's....I can't believe that many people missed the 1994 Expo...he was the first one I typed after Larkin and Smith for the NL

Don't know sports. Don't know why it wouldn't take Ripken Jr. for me.

Why is "rod" accepted for Rodriguez?

@bubble: Agreed. I can see accepting "A-Rod" or "Arod" but "Rod" is a bit much.

Accepting "Rod" is definitely ridiculous.

I am such a parochial Red Sox fan. Got all but one American Leaguer, AND struck out with no clue whatsoever on the entire 20 years of National Leaguers (with the exception of two notable Red Sox products.) Fun quiz, great time of year for it...only about 40 days more until the trucks start heading south for the Grapefruit League.

Ozzie Smith is pretty reasonable to miss. The guy had a career OPS+ of 87, and the year he won it was a slightly above average 105. Ozzie was an incredible fielder, but a very mediocre hitter.

Ozzie had decent years. Little power, but a guy with a .392 OBP (in 1987) is doing a heck of a lot to put runs on the board.

Good point, johnlk. I just figured most would type it in due to a combination of him being a famous HOF SS and Smith being a common name.

Accepting "Rod" is an unintended byproduct of accepting "A-Rod" and having the "accept last word only" option turned on.

Can't believe I didn't get the '83 Astro. I thought it was admitted coke-head Enos Cabell, but he evidently left the team a few years earlier.
