I added positions so it's easier to keep track of them. Any other suggestions or comments?

Shea Hillenbrand has started an all-star game this decade at 3B. Miguel Cabrera has not. That fact alone makes me lose faith in humanity.

Great Quiz!!! I finished all your MLB quizzes today, and can't wait for more!!! I only missed 4 on this quiz...and I'm hitting myself for 2 of the 4 ('01 AL 1B and '06 AL P) , since they were Mets at one point in their career!

I believe Ripken actually started at 3B and Rodriguez started at SS (it was before Rodriguez had moved to 3B full-time). Rodriguez and Ripken switched places for one play, which happened to be a pop-out to Ripken.

Must be nice to be the Yankees or the Red Sox.... I will buy that all-star, take that one, trade ridiculous sums of money for that one....all I can say is, as a Blue Jay fan, being in the AL East sucks

@dje: Back when he was on the Cardinals he was almost always referred to as Danny. But of course that was before he was traded to the A's with a couple others for Mark Mulder, who proceeded to fall off the face of the Earth. Seeing those two names as Athletics on this quiz was a depressing feeling.

You are right about the Ripken / Arod switch. It was back when Arod was a young, cool player who everyone loved and Ripken was a legend. The moment they switched was planned by Arod, but Ripken did not know about it. It was a very genuine, cool moment. Then 9/11 happened and Arod started dating Madonna so the moment has lost it's luster over the years.

wow... 176 of 188 and that only puts me in the 92 percentile. The most guessed one I missed was David Eckstein. And I am pretty mad I missed Mark Loretta. The name just wasn't coming to me. I was like, 'No you idiot it wasn't Mark Bellhorn... it was the other 2B who almost had a .300 career average and went to the Astros!!!'... I don't know whats more embarrassing: Not being from Boston or being a Red Sox fan and coming up with a Mark Bellhorn reference... or knowing that Mark Loretta had close to a .300 BA (i just checked, it ended up at .295)??? So sad.

@Vladman http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/07/13/2008-07-13_alex_rodriguez_fondly_recalls_2001_allst.html Rodriguez switched with Ripken before the game so that Ripken could symbolically start the game at shortstop.
