This is a great quiz. I would like to see Sporcle adopting this one as official.

Really like this quiz, Fred. I could possibly have done with another minute or so if I'm being pedantic but all in all I'm contented with my fairly average score of 22/30.

Got 28/30, missed the MLS and A-League ones. Keep up the quizzes mate, even if they don't become official they're still great!

No No No - Football existed in England before 1992. Sorry, but for England (and Scotland by the looks of it), it needs to be the top division back to when leagues started, not just when Rupert Murdoch decided to put in a Year Zero

Well Dr Richie I do agree obviously- but I decided to take the leagues in their current forms; the Premier League is thus founded in 1992 on all sources. I thought taking the current league would make it easier- some of the foreign leagues were won numerous times by obscure/defunct clubs back in the 1900s...

Love it! Great stuff! Messed up on South Africa, Egypt and Japan though. And was pleasantly surprised Lyon aren't topping the French list after what, 7 in a row (I know that doesn't equal more than 10).

Freddie, if you're gonna go by that criteria, the Serbian Superliga and the Russian Premier League, to name two, are newly(ish) created leagues like the EPL and SPL, so unless I'm misunderstanding, Spartak and Red Star aren't really correct answers any more than Liverpool or Rangers would be, I think. Great idea for a quiz.

Sorry, but this has absolutely no validity, You have to take national champions from the beginning, not just after the national association has sold out to some greedy corporate. This is stalinist and revisionist. Rupert Maxwell and Big Brother will be delighted.

Corrections are: England - Manchester United/Liverpool (18); Scotland - Rangers (53); Brazil - Palmeiras/Santos (8); Israel - Maccabi Tel Aviv (20); Russia (incl. Soviet Union) - Spartak Moscow (21); Japan - Tokyo Verdy/Kashima Antlers (7); United States - too messy; South Africa - Kaiser Chiefs (10); Denmark - KB (15); Olympiacos (22); Turkey - Fenerbahçe (26); Australia - Marconi Stallions/Sydney City/South Melbourne (4); Mexico - CD Guadalajara (24). The others are correct. France Saint-Etienne (10); Italy - Juventus (27);

Awful decision to base the whole of English football history on some corporate decision taken in 1992. Ridiculous to exclude the champions of England before that date & ask a question in this quiz about the most successful football club in England.

Agree with zeppelinoid & the rest of the pedants - the quiz should take into account the history of the national top flight..

Hey could you accept Spartak Moskva for Spartak Moscow? I've seen it spelled that way, and now that's how I think of them.
