| The Soviets ran into war in waves. The Germans just sat back with their MG34's and mowed them down but soon the russian sheer numbers overwhelmed them. In 1945 23 million russians dead was 1 out of every 6 russians dead, and another 20 million injured physicallly or mentally. Japn killed 10-20 million chinese but we will never know accuratly because China was undeveloped in the 1940's. The British really fought strategically but if it werent for the US coming into the war the Germans would have bombed them to submission or preformed operation sea lion an invasion force of 1 million german soldiers onto the british main land. The british were 2 weeks from surrendering to the Germans in 1941 due to the bombings of cities in the south and the overwhelming German U boat submarine attacks in the atlantic. The French, dutch, surrendered quickly. The Italians were all talk and when the Americans finally landed in Rome italy the Italians surrendered quick. The Germans were screwed. 15 million russian from the East, 3 million Americans and brits from the west, (normandy) and 1 million from the south Italy. Japan had lost in the pacific but still had 6 million troops in china. The Japanese Army was in a stalemate with the New chinese republic. They had pushed them back to the Tibeten mountain ranges and the Desert to the west. The Chinese goverment was struggling but slowly uniting the sleep giant called China. In the meantime Japan was slautering millions in mainland china such as the nanching massacre and dozens more. Japan was far more succesful in the south east indies and was descimating the philippino's, british, and australias. The Japanese were screwed even worse. By 1945 they had 6 million Americans from the East. 2 million Americans, btits, and Australians from the south. 5 million Chinese from the West. And towards the end they had the Russians racing across Siberia by the tens of millions in the potsdam declaration. Russia would invade Japan after defeating Nazi Germany. |
