	"Moor" was a generic word for Muslim, now largely associated with north African berbers. Arabs conquered spain in 711, and made Cordoba perhaps the greatest city in Europe.

	I think you could probably add the UK, at least as a bonus, because of Gibraltar. I'm not 100% sure, but since the Moors controlled southern Spain I'd imagine they had Gibraltar too.

	The one for Romania would more accurately read: 'Wallachia and Moldavia were conquered by the Ottomans' or just 'Partially conquered by the Ottomans', because Transylvania was not part of the Ottoman empire (it accounts for a little over a third of the country).

	@cep8888: Indeed Gibraltar was conquered along with the rest of Iberia. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory which means it is not part of the UK but rather a 'possession' of the UK but all of it's citizens are British nationals. Its all very strange but it would make a wonderful bonus.

	That's not my intent. I'll add the UK as a bonus, since the UK did control both Gibraltar and parts of Cyprus at one point.

	Andorra was created as a buffer state by Charlemagne to keep the Moors out of Central Europe. I don't think it was ever actually conquered, according to my research.

	Turkey conquered by Muslims? :S. There was no Turkey back then and the state which was conquered by the antecedents of them was Eastern Roman Empire... It just weird cause Turkey was created by Muslims and is not a cuuntry like the others who have been conquered at some period by them.

	There was also no "Kosovo" back then either. What's your point? Turkey was once part of a Christian land, which was conquered by Muslim Ottomans. Many of the countries in this quiz were not around or their borders were different. It's just a frivolous technicality IMO.

	And they consider these places to be occupied territory that are to be reconquered. Plus immigration and high birth rates make the other countries likely to become Muslim as well.

	I see your point but it is just that all these countries were conquered by muslims who were Turks... So Turkey CONQUERED by Turks sounds pretty wrong.

	Turkey was conquered by the Seljuqs, the Ottomans grew out of it themselves later.
