| Wow, I thought I knew all the rhymes, but nearly half of them just burred past my brain. |
 | WyvernSabres: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 10:51 GMT | 5 points |
| What's wrong with Surd? It seems more legitimate than Kurd (which is a proper noun) to me. |
 | ragu: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 11:30 GMT | -1 points |
| what about lured |
 | Flick: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 13:34 GMT | 0 points |
| @WyvernSabres: both the words you mentioned now fall into the bonus category. @ragu: I've added it to the bonuses too, as like cured, it 'almost' works. I'll add it if others think it deserves to be promoted. Thanx all |
 | gracie: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 17:58 GMT | 22 points |
| i think "erred" should also fall into the bonus (regional) category; I pronounce it like "aired." |
 | SaintsfanJoe: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 20:21 GMT | 9 points |
| I agree with gracie: "err" is said "air"--thus "erred is "aired"--not "urred". Since it is by far the least guessed (250% less at comment time), I think others might agree with us. |
 | Flick: | Jun 4th, 2011 at 20:34 GMT | 6 points |
| gracie and SaintsfanJoe: I seem to have erred, it is now a regional bonus. |
 | ostroffj: | Jun 5th, 2011 at 01:07 GMT | 4 points |
| Really disappointed that "Ya' Heard? with Perd" isn't a bonus. |
 | blatantly_guilty: | Apr 5th, 2012 at 10:43 GMT | 3 points |
| It seems the only answers I'm actually getting are bonuses... |
 | epicirish: | Apr 5th, 2012 at 13:38 GMT | 0 points |
| @ostroffj: That's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this quiz, and it's why I came to look at the comments too :) |

| I can't be the only one who had to take this with Surfin' Bird stuck in my head. |
 | theworryrock: | Apr 6th, 2012 at 21:07 GMT | 0 points |
| To me, air and err don't sound the same, and neither sounds like urr either. |

| Love this game, played it 4 times and each time I would forget a different one. |

| I used Kevin Gnapoor's rap from Mean Girls to get some of these |
 | casuistry: | Apr 8th, 2012 at 15:45 GMT | -2 points |
| gracie et al: "err" is traditionally "supposed" to be pronounced like "urr" (for those who care about such proscriptivist rules), although many people pronounce it like "air". |
 | chriskotx: | Apr 12th, 2012 at 02:27 GMT | 5 points |
| I agree with gracie about erred. Around here anyway, people dont make urrers urroneously. |

| Impossible to get them all in such a short time. Word. |

| You've got an awfully broad definition of "common." |
 | mimicgogo: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 04:42 GMT | 25 points |
| I must be in a region that says "lured" such that it rhymes with word. How else do you say it? |

| All my brain would think about during this quiz was "Ya' Heard? With Perd" |
 | ZardDog: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 05:19 GMT | 47 points |
| I had a teacher tell me once that "erred" is pronounced like this. I told her she was crazy. |
 | Lprdgecko: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 05:20 GMT | 18 points |
| @mimicgogo: I pronounce "Lured" with the U making a "oo" sound. |
 | NyackJohn: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 05:39 GMT | -1 points |
| Erred doesn't remotely rhyme with Word. What regional accent is THAT from? And "Urd" is okay, but "Kurd" is not? Both are proper names whether you are using Urd in the sense of Norse Mythology or in the sense of a Japanese Anime game... if you are using it to mean "Usenet Resource Downloader" that would be an acronym. So you might want to take that out or add Kurd in. You also might want to mention that the quiz is for one syllable words only - since "absurd" "occured" "demurred" and the like do rhyme too, they just have another syllable... |
 | Flick: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 07:16 GMT | 2 points |
| @Guinefort: fair enough, 'Common' has been removed. A minute also added |

| How about scurred? As in, "I ain't scurred of no birds." |
 | ari18: | Apr 23rd, 2012 at 08:02 GMT | 44 points |
| If "lured" is regional, so is "erred." I've never even heard someone say it so that it rhymes with "word." |
