Ha! This time I won't forget you, you Guineas!
But I will, of course, miss both Koreas.

My opinion is that "y" should count as a vowel if it's used as such: (eg Norway), but not if it's used as a consonant (eg. Kenya)

well, "y" is a vowel too. so you should count countries like norway, paraguay, uruguay, kenya etc. too.

BostonMatt has it backwards. Y is a consonant in countries like Norway or the Guays. Y is a vowel when used in placed of a vowel in a syllable, like in Italy or Kyrgyzstan (and possibly Kenya). I would support adding vowel Ys to this quiz, but it seems to be the usual Sporcle standard not to do so.

The first thing I tried was Kyrgyzstan, but then I remembered it only had 1 vowel.

Libya would also count as a two vowel country. Y is definitely a vowel there.

I'm not sure how people are classifying the Y as a vowel. Why aren't Paraguay and Uruguay vowels? If Kenya ended in 2 vowels, then you would have to pronounce it Ken nee ah and Lib bee ah. Most people say Ken yah and Lib yah.

The quiz is in English and the English language has 21 consonants (including y) and 5 vowels. It doesn't matter how a letter is used. If a letter in a word is silent does that mean it doesn't exist?

@Mike N: I pronounce it "Lib-ee-ah." I've never heard "Ken-ee-ah," but Libya should definitely be on here. @dizzygothica: Didn't you learn in school that "y" is sometimes a vowel?

I missed the logic in not accepting Norway, Paraguay, Libya ..etc, but Mozambique was okay.

z_z, the point was to avoid "ia." The quiz is a good idea, even if the "y" debate is of relevance. I'll still give it 5/5.

Pretty sure you forgot one- West Timor. Other than that it was a pretty solid quiz. Pretty solid.

I'm not sure what the Koreas did to me, but apparently I hate them, because I seem to steadfastly refuse to acknowledge their existence.
