Good quiz, but a slight problem: when I tried to type Bellatrix I lost the game because it thought I was guessing Katie Bell. Might want to fix that.

You should accept Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. Not really a big deal, but since that's how they're usually referred to...

I typed "Lily" and the game ended, even though she's listed above Harry (though with the number 64 in parentheses).

@imclala the box above Harry is the one that shows the name you typed if you got it wrong and named a character outside the top 50, the number in brackets being where they actually are in the ranking.

Love the quiz, but the title doesn't really give a clue as to what the nature of the quiz will be. I would recommend adding the word "character" as in "Harry Potter Character Minefield."

don't many of the references to "Moody" in Goblet of Fire actually refer to Barty Crouch Jr?

Question for moderators: Are all the current "minefield" games constructed to get one's quiz into a "most-played" category? As a player, it is extremely unsatisfying to replay a game to see the correct answers.

@slamb: I guess just as there are people who love playing Sporcle games, there are others who equally love writing those games. If new format options are made available, game creators will run with (and learn from) those challenges. I imagine the popularity of the format will determine its longevity, but as it's still quite new I suspect the sports quizzes will be given a run for their money for just a little while longer.

If it was possible to have the game end when you get all 50 that might be good, because as it is now you have to either give up or type in an incorrect name in order to get the game to end.

Although this might take some fun out of it, this quiz is taken from a portion of the "Name the Top 200 Harry Potter Characters" quiz. It lists all of the people there if you can't get it here.

just delete the 0 column, because it is really irritating that you can't get 100% because you have to enter (i guess) the wrong answer that you put there!!!!!!!!!!FIX THIS PLEASEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to somehow fix the fact that after you get the proper 50 you don't automatically win.

I find that Barty Crouch Jr as #124 is hard to believe. What's the most obscure, least-known Potter character in the books? Someone with #200 or less?

I found a lower one: Madame Malkin, 146. So continues my search to find the most obscure Potter character.
