I think including The Avengers is a real stretch, but otherwise nice assortment. Though I still hate the insinuation that Lion King has anything to do with Hamlet, and I'd like some proof of this from Disney.

@jonTK: The Avengers was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Interestingly the 'The Lion King' has a number of influences but Hamlet is high on the list with Simba - Hamlet, Scar - Claudius, Timon and Pumbaa - Rosencrantz and Guildenstern being some of the associated characters. The plot also is strikingly similar in many respects with the murder of the Uncle (Hamlet Senior and Mufasa) and the quest to bring justice to the perpetrator.

Fun quiz. Is "Bonfires and Broomsticks" related to "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" or a different film?
Oct 17th, 2012 at 16:12 GMT
@nannagins: 'Bonfires and Broomsticks' was one of the two books (the other being 'The Magic Bed Knob') that inspired the movie.

@Flick Yes, great points. I mentioned this on another quiz but in the special features of the Lion King dvd they even talk about Hamlet and a few other influences. @jontk That is your proof, Flick laid it out nicely and its been said by quite a few people associated with Disney.
