	I hope to see Colin Firth and The King's Speech added to this list. Not that it matters, but the only item that's not in chronological order is American Beauty.

	Good quiz, but how is The Deer Hunter a British film? It was set in the US (and Vietnam) filmed in the US and Thailand, starred American actors and was written, directed, produced and funded by Americans. (For what it's worth, Shakespeare in Love was conceived, co-written, co-produced and primarily funded by Americans as well but it is certainly very "Britishy".)

	Leviper, you're forgetting that the info at the top says "Since 1950". Do try to learn to read. Frug, you're almost right: that is, right up to the "funded by" part. "The Deer Hunter" was produced by EMI Films, a British company. While (American) director Michael Cimino was one of the producers who was given the Oscar for the movie's Best Picture win, the other three producers were British. Strange though it may be, it does belong on the list...though, Flick, I'd probably include a note at the top about what qualifies as a "British" film. It's less clear why Shakespeare in Love is on the list (four of its five producers being American, and it being produced by Universal/Miramax.

	Surprised to see you leave off Audrey Hepburn. She wasn't born in the UK but when considering British winners and best actresses she is almost always lumped in with the Brits.

	@frug: The whole British classification issue seems very complicated to say the least, I was quite surprised to find 'The Deer Hunter' in the list when I compiled the game. @Tahnan: One of the best explanations I've come across, can be found at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/special_report/1999/02/99/e-cyclopedia/276748.stm but I have made my note at the top a whole lot shorter! Thanx as always

	You've forgotten Anthony Minghella from the directors and the source has forgotten Elizabeth Taylor from the actresses (she has duel US and UK nationality - born in London)

	Missed the link the source link the first time. What I do find interesting is that the American Film Institute classifies The Deer Hunter and Shakespeare in Love as American films. I guess everyone wants to claim a piece of them.

	Obviously the inclusion of years for the non-Best Picture categories makes half the Best Pictures trivially easy ... really, those other categories don't need years.
