	straits, traits - there's a 4th word for this one STRATI (pl. of stratus - type of cloud). i tried this before the correct answer.

	I like this quiz very much. Another nitpick, though - "ratel" (meaning honey badger) should be accepted as an anagram for "alert".

	+1 on ratel . . . but I don't mind. Had to take this more than 30 times before getting them all. I kept forgetting the 6-letter words I'd already figured out!!! Then got in a total rut over 'rudest.' Was stuck on it forever. Any chance the words could be displayed in all caps? Or all lowercase? It makes it just a little harder looking at them with initial caps. Though I usually just look at them in my mind's eye.

	You know how sometimes quiz answers are stumping so you skip them for the time being to avoid wasting time when you could be getting other ones? That happened to me with "Alter, Alert", I decided to save it for later...
