| @raragigi: Vatican citizenship is unlike that of any other sovereign nation. Citizenship is only awarded to those who are involved with the Vatican's affairs. In other words, members of the clergy, Swiss Guard, cardinals, etc... Receptionists, to use your example, would not be given citizenship; they merely work in the Vatican.
In any case, I would assume that the Vatican would only hire Roman Catholic receptionists, regardless. Most likely, they would be residents of Italy, implying that they would almost certainly be Roman Catholic. |
