I think that you are missing Curium as one of the elements that begin with C. Other than that, it's a great quiz. 5 orbs.

So would a "ramp" technically be in the category of inclined plane instead of a synonym?

Since when where there only eight endocrine glands? (and since when was the thymus considered an endocrine gland? its only known function is in the immune system and hematopoesis)

311rvmt: Although not all, the vast majority of internet sites recognise the thymus as an endocrine gland. Here is one such site- http://www.ivy-rose.co.uk/HumanBody/Endocrine/Endocrine_Glands.php I have added the word 'Major' to the heading though, as you are correct in pointing out there are minor endocrine glands. Thanx

I saw you have Sports by Numbers, Geography by Numbers, and now this. A good one would be Music by Numbers.
I am a huge music fan, so it would be a great quiz! I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy it, besides me!

As an endocrinologist, I agree with 311rvmt: The thymus is not an endocrine gland, no matter what that holistic medicine website says. It does not secrete hormones; therefore, it's not an endocrine gland. While the pineal gland does make hormones, it should be classified as a minor endocrine gland; it's hardly a major one comparable to the others.

OK endocrine glands have gone and I've jiggled things around (causing major mayhem in the 'most missed', sorry) I've put clouds in the 10 slot, but if this is too difficult may change it later.

Square prism for cube, please. @beforever: Most everyone knows what a mole is, but most wouldn't suspect it to be a base SI unit.

@hollabackitsobi: A square prism can also be a cuboid which is not a platonic solid.

Not to be picky, but I tried Pluto in the planet category to see what would happen and you put in "asteroid number 134340". Although the formal designation of Pluto is 134340 Pluto, Pluto is classified as a dwarf planet, a trans-Neptunian object, a plutoid, a Kuiper Belt Object and a plutino, but is not considered an asteroid.

Flick, I know it can't be changed now that the quiz is published, but I don't think Phil was suggesting that you remove the bonus answer, rather just to revise it to one of the correct terms instead than "asteroid."

Regarding Watson and Crick: they were the first to popularize the theory of the double helix, but they did not develop it independently. Waston may have seen a double staircase in a dream, but he saw hGosling and Franklin's x-ray photograph of B-DNA first.

Of course I saw eight planets and said, "Oh, right, because Pluto isn't a planet anymore." And then five seconds later typed Pluto without thinking. Fun quiz!

I typed "incline plane" probably five times... I was going to complain but I googled it and apparently the d really is important. And I didn't realize "wheel" needed to be "wheel and axle." Boo.
