Off the top of my head: Michigan State made the final four in 2009, not Pitt Georgia Tech made the final four in 2006, losing to UConn in the championship. Double check your work.

Good quiz, just the title needs to include the sport. There are plenty of NCAA Tournaments.

I think it's too much time. I had time to guess every Division I school I knew, which is most of them.

I disagree with the prior posts, I think if a sport isn't specified then mens basketball is the obvious default it is far and away the biggest of the post season tournaments, and when people talk about the Final Four etc, unless they specify something else most people would assume men's basketball

@Morby: Under styles, change the answer grouping to "2 Column", "3 Column", etc. Then answers with the same hint will appear under the same heading.

It didn't accept "Oregon St" for Oregon State, unless I had a typo. Otherwise, good game. Knowing every team in the major conferences helps.

robson, the quiz is asking who were the four #1 seeds at the start of the tournament, not who made it to the Final Four. Illinois was a #5, Villanova was a #3, and Michigan St. was a #2.

How to get at least 50% on this quiz:
1) State a state.
2) State a state "State".
This has got me thru every Sporcle college sports challenge I've ever taken. (Both of them.)

Remarkable how many misses on the 1979 team that ended up as runner-up. Does anyone remember a Hick from French Lick?

This is not one of those quizzes where you can be proud of getting the four least guessed answers. They were obviously just added to the quiz on Sunday at 6 PM EST.
