Great quiz. I don't know if it's a good idea to include ALL of this year's nominees yet, as most people are yet to see all of them at this stage so most are unrecognisable.

I agree with dummo. It was a very fun quiz but it could be improved if there were less 2010 nominees included (especially since the Academy has ignorantly chosen to continue to have ten nominees per year rather than their traditional five). Also the picture used for Inglorious Bastards could be more recognizable. I don't think that that movie should be the least correctly identified.

While I agree with both of you, this is basically all I could find for Oscar best pictures that have been done. I initially was going to do just the 2010 noms, but decided that was boring and would be better if it had some support from other years.

Got all but one of the non-2010 movies. Missed all but one of the 2010 noms (and it was Toy Story). Guess the others are so recognizable that when I started the quiz I didn't realize there were any new movies, much less 10-11 of them. Guess I should have scrolled down and looked at the "year" column. Awesome quiz, though!

@nowaybrah, did you put the full title, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?

Number 18 should have an asterisk

Nominated (for daily game, not for Oscar)! Many brilliant touches, such as Redford's hair. I found Inglorious Basterds and the Graduate a little hard to figure... nothing specific enough to identify it as the Graduate, as opposed to, say, barring the church door with the cross. For Inglorious Basterds, we need to let the Lego people know that we want a WWII building set with properly costumed characters!

@Hubbadestahs: Should it REALLY have an asterisk?

@steeltown: If I'm not mistaken, the one for the Graduate has the iconic image of Mrs. Robinson's stocking-clad leg in the foreground ("Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me, aren't you?")

Yeah Graduate was one of the easiest to recognise, I've never seen the film, but that scene with Dustin Hoffman while Ann Bancroft is laying there 'are you trying to seduce me' is one of the most recognisable scenes in film history.

I've seen the graduate a bazillion times, but somehow couldn't translate my memory of Hoffman's flexible mien during that scene, with the foreground of Anne Bancroft's lovely leg, and translate that into Lego-- which is why FearTheManatee is doing these quizzes instead of me. (I do have a visual processing disorder, so I should probably stop commenting on this type of quiz; but I admire them so much!)

@WCRoentgen: Actually, it's this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O3sHpkHwNs&feature=related. But your point is still valid nonetheless; it is still an iconic shot that should be easily distinguishable.

And also, Casablanca was the Best Picture winner of 1943, not 1942.

We need more LEGO quizzes like this! It makes my head spin to think how long it took to make these scenes out of legos. I don't know why, but scene 12 just made me think of the Social Network, even though I've never seen it.

Even though George Lucas doesn't want to believe it. The film was called "Star Wars," when it was nominated for best picture, you cannot retcon history George. Great Quiz.

It has to be tough to re-create the iconic scene from The Graduate given that Lego mini figures don't have knees!

The Social Network one is WAY too generic. It could be virtually any movie with a dialogue scene.

The title of the last movie was "Star Wars." That George Lucas has subsequently decided that its title is actually "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" does not mean the rest of us have to pretend that was the title.

A couple I got but have no idea how I figured it out. A couple I never would've figured out despite loving the movie (The King's Speech?) but mostly I'm kicking myself for not getting Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, because that's totally Robert Redford and I'm a little ticked off that a Lego has better hair than I do.

@antoniobroto: It's Anthony Hopkins being carted in on a dolly in a strait jacket. Too bad the facemask wasn't included.

Some of these are not clear enough. 10 and 18 could have been anything.
