Great quiz, but how are the Houston Texans not named after their location?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 16:05 GMT
For religious, Padres?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 16:26 GMT

I don't think the Columbus hockey is correctly under the Revolutionary War category. The Wikipedia entry references the clubs own website which refers to Ohio's Civil War history. It also notes, correctly I think, the Indian from after the Revolutionary War who fought in the Ohio area (and perhaps should put the club under a bonus for Native American). But it's definitely not from the Revolutionary War

Likewise, the Knicks should be under the location category, IMO. Clearly refers to a New Yorker.

Cowboys are a job.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 18:29 GMT
Would you say 'kings' could fit into the jobs category?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 19:42 GMT
I would say Browns are forces of nature.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 19:44 GMT
I would say that Astros belongs in the jobs category more than the forces of nature category since it refers to the Astrodome, which itself was based on Houston's space industry, i.e. astronauts.

blue jackets should be part of american revolution. they signify the blue jackets that americans wore
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:05 GMT
cubscardinals: Yeah the blue jackets they wore in the Civil War not the Revolution
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:46 GMT
packers could be in native american cuz they were named after the indian packing company that provided equipment for the team in 1920. also yankee is probably more civil war than revolution. trailblazers for job? jazz and lakers for location cuz their original location fits the criterion.

canada - toronto raptors?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:50 GMT
and blue jays

Knicks are a location team like Jametz says. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knickerbocker
Apr 10th, 2010 at 11:32 GMT
FastEddie, Yes they were named after the Astrodome. However, that was named after the country's space program named after an asteroid. This is arguable. Cubscardinals has it right, Blue Jackets represent the Civil War. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Jackets#Team_name Packers are arguable as well but I can't find efficient proof that actual Indians were involved, just non-native Americans. Give me time.

sorry couldnt resist the last one- but shouldnt the minnesota wild be a force of nature?
Apr 10th, 2010 at 12:58 GMT
and arizona and st louis cardinals for religious
Apr 11th, 2010 at 00:55 GMT
Uh, no to cardinals as a "religious" team name. Why? Because I can guarantee you that the logos they have are actual birds and not catholic priests. Why must everyone think that their answer is right even though, lets see, the Wild has nothing to do with a force of nature or blue jays and raptors as anything to do with Canada. People. Just let the guy be.
Apr 11th, 2010 at 04:45 GMT
Technically the Lakers should be named after location, as they were named after the 10,000 lakes of their original state, Minnesota.
May 21st, 2010 at 13:52 GMT
@fastdawg well what about the "saint" in st. louis cardinals?
Jun 7th, 2010 at 17:30 GMT
blue jackets are named for the union soldiers in the civil war. They wore BLUE JACKETS, as opposed to the red jackets worn by the confederates. Hence the name

missing a bunch for canada...raptors, blue jays, oilers, senators..
