	Some mispellings in the hints: villan>villian, sentance>sentence. Hints are a mishmash of definitions, some not good, and examples, e.g. nails are not tools, a mitre is not clothing, rinse is not the same as wash (yes, it's only a hint), a verse is not a sentence.

	These are getting really, really repetitive... I appreciate that it's hard to make an original one, but if we're just going to be unscrambling the same words over and over then what's the point of putting out a new one every single day?

	@smartster: According to the dictionary, two definitions for mitre (also spelled miter) are "the official headdress of a bishop in the Western Church, in its modern form a tall cap with a top deeply cleft crosswise, the outline of the front and back resembling that of a pointed arch" and "a fillet worn by women of ancient Greece." It has other definitions as well, but it is in fact not one, but two different types of clothing.

	Even with ZEBRA, I found this to be an excellent ladder, having to unjumble real words definitely adds to the difficulty level. I got MITRE because it is a major sports equipment manufacturer, particularly in football (UK).

	to raise difficulty in the future, might I suggest avoiding the alphabetical requirement of the answers? Some find they can unscramble a LOT of anagrams without even reading the clue if they know the first letter.

	Mostly a good quiz but we didn't need another ulcer. If I'm not mistaken, the Pope wears a mitre. Of course I spelled it wrong and had to retype.

	Sparing doesn't really go well with terse. Terse (while short) implies harshness that sparing doesn't. Maybe I am wrong but it seems a bit misleading

	So many of these words can make other words so it got really tough to put both those other words and the given words out of my head to try to find the word you wanted (tides can also be diets, serve can also be veers, sonic can also be coins, and ropes can also be pores or spore).

	@abraves10001: Terse can mean abrupt and brusque, but it needn't. Laconic definitely connotes abruptness and brusqueness (or aloofness), but terse can mean concise and to-the-point, as in a terse writing style, which need not have a harsh connotation. In that sense, I think sparing is a fine synonym.
