| Alomar didn't make my list because his tenure with the Jays was just too short. In hindsight Willie Keeler probably shouldn't have been included and I should have take Hodges/Reese/Drysdale/Sutton or somebody else. I was trying to include some of the older players. Sosa on the Cubs, I briefly considered it, but the other guys all had better numbers overall in comparison to the era's they played in and the positions they played. I think Cap Anson if anybody would be the next guy on before Sosa. There are some teams (Not just the Yankees) where choosing just 4 players is so tough. I mean leaving off Fingers, Eck, Cochrane, and Reggie for the A's was tough. Ditto Trammel, Lolich, Morris, and Whitaker for the Tigers or Hornsby, Medwick, Dean, Brock for the Cards. Rice and Evans for the BoSox. McCovey, Hubbell, Marichal, Perry for the Giants. Guys like ARod, Frank Robinson, and Alomar all would have been on the list if they had spent more time with certain teams. I probably shouldn't have used Clemens..by the way I do not take offense at any of the comments, I think it is a fantastic debate to have and may make some changes later based on the suggestions and enjoy the debate. Thanks all for the kind comments and keep SPORCLING |
