| @redsxfenway: That was the one I thought long and hard about, but I decided to go with it because a) it has been adopted as a term of pride in Kenyan society today since it is more authentically African than the English-language name, and b) there's actually a bit of debate about the origin, since some Kikuyu scholars say it was an acronym for a Swahili-language slogan among the rebels.
So until historians can definitively agree on that one, I personally feel like it's okay to use. However, everyone should please feel free to weigh in by up-voting @redsxfenway if you agree with him! |
