	It was simply put, an tremendous run. @Hooby: David Tyree's catch was a tremendous catch, and the defining play in the biggest upset in Super Bowl history. I would probably put that as the #1 postseason play this decade

	Sorry Hooby, but I got two words for ya: David Tyree. It was in the Super Bowl, and pretty much won it for the G-men. That HAS to be a bigger play than Lynch's. Plus, half the Saints guys were going for the strip on that play. They didn't need to go for the strip (that was stupid on their part), but that's what they were doing.

	man i turned to talk to talk to my dad when he went into the pile and when i look up hes breaking tackles half way up the field and im staring wth my mouth open wondering what the heck happened. fantastic play.

	Lynch's run is probably the best running play in recent playoff memory, and without a doubt the best individual effort I have ever seen. But the Eli Manning pass to David Tyree play is better because of both Eli's and Tyree's efforts, and the fact that it directly led to a Super Bowl victory.

	Best play by one player was the Lynch one. Most clutch play was the Holmes catch. But the best, and most influential play by one team was the Tyree catch. Let's not forget Manning escaping the grasps of the NE defensive-line, and the fact that the game would have been all but over if he was sacked.

	@mmoney421: I dunno... I'd be inclined to go with the Harrison INT, particularly considering that Harrison freelanced on the play. Warner read the defense that was called correctly, and Boldin should have been open. But Harrison read Warner, and then made a tremendous run. Great physical and mental play.

	Truly a phenomenal run by Lynch, but also a great team play -- the entire Seahawks team, including QB Hasselbeck, were throwing blocks downfield. BTW, not to be a contrarian, but another of the best postseason plays (and almost certainly the most underappreciated) of the last decade or so was by Mike Jones of the Rams tackling Kevin Dyson one yard shy of the end zone on the final play of the '00 Super Bowl. That was textbook football at its finest: read the play, square up, wrap him up, follow him to the turf. If Jones makes the tiniest technical mistake anywhere, that game goes into overtime. (Plus, the commercial by Don Cheadle the following year was absolute genius.)

	I would list the plays as follows for best of the 2000s: Best defensive play-james harrison int/mike jones tackle/(Not a Saints fan) Tracy Porter INT cuz it stopped a tying drive and effectively ended the game, Best run-Lynch for sure, best WR play: Actually, i would say the Antonio Freeman catch, because it was better than all of them and it did fall in OT, making it important. #2 Holmes/tyree tie (Sportscience did a study saying that tyree used more force to make the catch, but holmes was in the endzone to win it so they tie). Best qb avoidance play: Eli on the getaway OR McNair in sb XXXIV when he avoided tackle after tackle to even give the titans one last play, Best OVR play: Gotta be Tyree. Kept the game going, Plus two amazing plays on both ends. Oh and best kick: Adam Vinatieri 48 yds to win SB/Lawrence Tynes 47 at frigid Lambeau to get to SB

	@mlbnflwhiz: Assuming you are talking about Freeman's MNF catch, because its in the regular season it isn't quite as relevant to the discussion as the other ones. Although that play was absolutely phenomenal.

	@Sabresfan: true, but it DID win the game DIRECTLY, as opposed to holmes and tyree, which while they were HUGE toward victory, im not sure either catch itself was quite as good, even amounting for the stage. Freeman's was MNF against archrival MIN in OT at a turning point in the season (Packers were 3-5 and had tom turn it around). Im no Packers fan (Giants actually so its ironic im voting against tyree) but the catch by itself i think was the pure best (Not that the others werent unbelieveably phenomenal.)
