	Not to defend this list, but it is not his list. These are the "alpha" cities on the list he linked to. On the other hand, I don't find any description on the link that the "alpha" cities are "the most important cities in the world." So not sure the link even claims that.

	The link essentially says that these are the most highly networked cities--that is, most connected into the global system/most critical for linking other cities into said system. It's an interesting measurement, but they are not MOST IMPORTANT and the quiz title should reflect that.

	There are many, many cities that are of HUGE worldwide cultural significance, (e.g. MECCA, Saudi Arabia) but are not Alpha++, Alpha or Beta designated cities. . . . Your source (GaWC), which seems just legit enough, lists ALPHA and BETA cities, not "World's Most Important Cities" ---------- because "importance" is HIGHLY subjective.

	I know this has been mentioned, but when I began the quiz by typing in "Washington, D.C." and it was not an answer, I knew the quiz lacked credibility. The decisions made in the District affect the world on the same level as those made in NYC, Paris, London, Tokyo, Beijing, etc.

	Agreed with Who_Worldwide. This quiz should be called Alpha Cities, not "Most Important Cities." The GaWC is a legitimate source used by geographers worldwide, and grouped these cities on their economic impact. Therefore cities with massive cultural impacts but little in terms of economics (Jerusalem, Vatican City, Mecca, Kathmandu, Lhasa, etc.) do not appear as "Alpha" cities.

	maybe you haven't thought of this, but panama city has the canal that takes away over a thousand miles of travel. There is a reason they put a canal there, goods can get where they are going weeks earlier than they could if the canal wasn't there

	I am left with the question given jaspa's explanation - why Auckland? It's economic impact simply cannot be that great, at least when you are thinking of economic impact as effect on people rather than impact over a wider area (i.e. a lot of pacific islands). The economic impact on the world if Auckland didn't exist is probably less than if many of the beta cities didn't exist.

	And I'm very surprised that Warsaw has overhauled Berlin. It's a much smaller city, and much of Poland still suffers from transport networks that were originally built as radials from Berlin. I do wonder if some geographer's coloured pencil slipped there.

	I am surprised Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Jerusalem, and Berlin are not on here. They all have very high significance to either religion, independence, or finance.

	It seems like important is a broad term. Important as to what? Maybe need to be more specific. I tried Detroit because of the automobile, Seattle beacuse of the Space shuttles, and Berlin because of its significance. What about DC? Hmmm I'm thinking the source needs to be more specific

	So the capital of the world's biggest economy (Washington/DC) falls below 41st, and the tech capital of America (San Francisco/San Jose) also falls short? And where is Geneva, Dubai, or (New) Delhi?
