| Some of the Arabic-speaking countries have been speaking it for a thousand years. Using that logic, Turkey should be included, as it originated in Central Asia, and most of what is now Turkey was Greek (or Armenian) speaking until well after 1000 A.D. For that matter, extend things far enough back and you'd have to include most Romance language countries, or even the UK, so you may want to set a cut-off, time-wise. Also, Iceland, Bahamas, Cape Verde (creole) and perhaps Papua New Guinea (tok pisin) are missing. |
