Good quiz, but for some it would accept just the first word, while others needed ball after it

They've certainly come a long way since the RBY days of just Poke, Great, Ultra, and Master.

Is the Pester Ball really considered a Pokéball? I mean, it's a cool inclusion, but you couldn't catch anything with it. That's like including the mud from the Safari Zone

@Kazbar: If you shouldn't include Pester Ball, then you shouldn't include GS Ball. And mud isn't a Poke Ball. If it's like including mud, then it would also be like including Voltorb, Electrode, rocks, Poke Blocks...

I think there's a difference between the GS Ball, which theoretically could hold a Pokémon despite the player's inability to use it, and the pester ball, which exists solely to blast Pokémon with irritants. I'd take out Pester Ball but leave GS Ball in, personally - the pester ball is indeed closer to mud than a poké ball. The word "ball" shouldn't throw us off that much, should it?

It's a tough call. The pester ball fits in pretty well with the rest of them visually. From what I understand, though, it's practically a rock with pretty colors. Oh, Pokémon Snap, how I miss thee...

Who cares people. This is a great-ball quiz! You could add some more balls from the anime such as the clone ball featured in Mewtwo Strikes Back and the lake ball featured in Hook, Line and Stinker. TCG-only variants could be added too. Here are some ideas for that: The Dual Ball, Team Magma Ball, Team Aqua Ball and the Rocket's Poké Ball.

Alright, I've removed Pester Ball from the quiz. I understand the comments, and was already considering whether to leave it in or not when making the quiz. I thought it would be good as a nod at Pokémon Snap, but indeed the Pester Ball cannot catch Pokémon, and only serves to bonk them in the head or create Koffing-shaped smoke clouds.

Yeah, they added the Dream Ball in B&W for Pokemon you send from the Dream World to the Entralink. I love the Dream World aspect, but I think they should have made something compatible with the Pokewalker. :/

Aside from the original ones, the only balls I use all that much are Dusk, Quick, and occasionally Timer Balls.

Thanks for the publish, Sporcle! :D
@chux @44GreenBlinks: The quiz originally had the Park, Dream, and GS Ball but they were removed, likely to better fit the picture quiz format. The description of what each item did was also removed. Even longer ago the quiz had Pester Balls from Snap, but users seemed not to like it there so that was also removed.

Why was Park accepted for Sport? I knew there was a Park Ball, I knew it wasn't here, but I was desperate and it worked. I used Net, Dusk, Heal and Quick a lot along with Poke, Great and Ultra.
