| Good quiz, but I don't think Dennis Franz, Dennis Haysbert, Richard Dean Anderson and Pat Morita are really That Guys. NYPD Blue ran for too long, and Dennis Franz became too big of a star on it to be a That Guy. Ditto for Richard Dean Anderson on MacGuyver. Pat Morita was a That Guy at one time, but Mr. Miyagi just made him too famous. Dennis Haysbert is the closest to a That Guy but my gut tells me he became too famous on 24 to still qualify. Newman's probably not a real That Guy either. (I think real That Guys don't have any one character that they're super-famous for...that's one reason why MacGuyver, Mr. Miyagi, President Palmer, and Sipowicz don't work).
I would definitely get at least two of them out and get JT Walsh and JK Simmons into this quiz. Classic That Guys, especially Walsh. Richard Jenkins is another great example of a That Guy. The Dad from The Wonder Years is another great That Guy. I still don't know his name.
You do have some great That Guys on here though. Especially Row 1 Actor 5. I can probably name 20 things I've seen him in and I still don't know his name. |
