	For some reason 1996 didnt work for Arkansas. I thought there was something strange about the fact Clinton didnt win his home state

	Somehow I got mixed up (forgive me, not an US citizen) and forgot Bush sr., so I tried 1980 for Carter and never bothered about 1976 for Nixon's landslide victory... so I ended up with 46 (after I was back in the time of the Dem-Rep liberal-conservative switch I gave up). Unfortunately even the imagined most staunch GOP states made sense to me (Texas, SC, Alabama, Mississippi - believable). All in all not bad, but just plain guessing without thinking would have given me the full monty ;) Well, what the heck, it was interesting.

	1972 was Nixon's landslide (all but Mass & DC); 1984 was Reagan's (all but Minnesota & DC). Carter in 1976 carried all the Southern and border states except Oklahoma and Virginia. Johnson in 1964 carried all but a few deep southern states and Arizona, so some very Republican states go back to 1964. This list would look different in 2007 since Obama carried some traditionally Republican states that hadn't voted D since 1964 (such as Virginia and Indiana). Clinton carried some GOP states in 1992 and 1996 for either historical/traditional reasons (e.g. his own Arkansas and Jimmy Carter's Georgia) or because Ross Perot as an independent had taken some non-Democratic votes away from the Republican candidate (e.g. Montana and Arizona).

	Sorry about any misunderstandings: my internal logic (forgetting Bush sr. and counting backwards) left me with 1980 Carter, 1976 Nixon. Which of course is wrong, and that's why I did not master this quiz.
