Good quiz, but will be more of a challenge if the time is cut to 4 or 5 minutes.

Alright i made it 5 minutes

Does this include all years or does it have a cut off year?

Good one, surprised it hadn't been done already. Will probably get published.

Awesome quiz, but perhaps you could make Florida St acceptable for Florida State, Ohio St acceptable for Ohio State, etc., like the other NCAA football quizzes here, maybe just to cut back on the little bit of time it takes to type in the -ate. Just a suggestion.

Wow, I never would've guessed that Texas Tech has been to more bowl games than Notre Dame.
Oct 18th, 2009 at 17:50 GMT
Didn't Notre Dame used to decline invitations if the bowl wasn't prestigious enough for it? I might be inventing that in my head, but I think that's accounts for its (relatively) low number.

great quiz! got em all with about 50 seconds to spare. and paulvc is right, Notre Dame used to decline bowls invitations all the time. In fact, between 1925 and 1970 ND didn't go to a single bowl game.

Southern Cal should not be the listed answer. Either USC or Southern California should be; the department does not recognize Southern Cal as an acceptable name for the program.

Great quiz, I hope this one gets published

And for those wondering about the low Big 10 numbers, it used to be Rose or nothing until the early 70s.
Oct 19th, 2009 at 16:51 GMT
How about including 'Texas A and M'? Aside from that, it was awesome.

Wow some jerkoff at Va Tech tried to tell me they had more bowl game appearances then us (Tennessee). As if! Go Vols =)!

CLEMSON & MICHIGAN!

USC would have more than Alabama if they were allowed to go to more than the Rose Bowl up until about the 1970s. Nobody has more Big 4 (Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar) appearances and wins than USC.

Sadly, as no one has pointed out, you spelled appearAnces wrong.

For 40+ years Notre Dame had a "no bowl game" policy, The Big Ten had a similar policy.

This is a really great college football quiz--on the surface it's just about naming good programs, and that's mostly it, but there's small things that make an extensive knowledge of the subject quite helpful. A lot of younger people may not realize how few bowls Notre Dame was in before the 1970s or that the Big Ten used to only allow their champion in a bowl until a 10-0-1 Michigan team didn't get to play in a bowl. It's ironic that the bowls are often touted for being part of college football's tradition, yet the most successful program in the history of the sport has never seemed to think much of the bowls.

How did I forget Auburn!? Oh well, GO TIGERS!

The acceptance of three-letter abbreviations is random here. It would be better to do all or nothing. For someone whose icon is the OSU logo I would think accepting "OSU" for Ohio State would be a given! There are several others (WVU, MSU, PSU) that should be accepted as well. That nitpicking thing aside, a very fun quiz!

And once again, I forget about Georgia Tech.
