Were Scranton and Wilkes-Barre in different metropolitan areas back then? I always thought they were in the same metropolitan area. If they are in the same, then you should accept Scranton. If not, then disregard that.

Back in 1950, the Census Bureau counted them separately. Scranton was at 236,706, which is 53rd place. To make that a little clearer and to hit the 200,000 benchmark exactly, I added #51 to 60.

Wow, those metro areas that are now counted together are a nice twist. I almost typed Fort Worth, then thought "I already got Dallas." Whoops.

I thought it was strange to see Dallas lower than Houston. But it didn't occur to me to try Fort Worth, such a shame.

Hey, what's with the hit-and-run low ratings all of a sudden?
