If you're going to accept just "bass" (when the actual instruments are bass guitar, bass drum, bass saxophone, etc.), then you should also accept "horn".

Horn is a valid answer. The International Horn Society officially designates the "French Horn" as simply the "Horn". Numerous composers, orchestrators, scores, and musicians have done the same for centuries.
