Nice game. The German's name is Riesch, not Reisch though...

Anyone else going through Olympic withdrawal today? I NEED my fix of outrageous spandex, incomprehensible curling strategems, and tiny + or - clocks ticking away in the corner of my tv screen. Merci le Canada!

Make the quiz shorter, too much time to guess randomly

Mikka Kiprusoff should be Miikka. Good quiz, maybe a bit too easy :)

@treemeister2, we're called Great Britain in the Olympics, and in sport in general, so technical it's more appropriate here.

Too much time. I had enough time to:
1. type in the ones that I knew,
2. make guesses based on what nationality the name suggested for the rest, and then
3. guess random winter olympic nations for the remaining ones

Got about 3/4 of them without even having to guess...I think I've been watching the Olympics too much.

@RichN95 - technically it's Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Olympics, which is pretty much (or as near as) equivalent to United Kingdom (which itself is short for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).

I think the time was perfect. I managed to fluke the last two in the last 30 seconds but prior to that I had to work hard and use my knowledge of which countries had medalled and which names looked like which countries to get there.

24/26 for me. Didn't get Elena Khrustaleva or Kristina Smigun-Vaehi. Surprised more people got them than skier Tina Maze.

Misspelled Miikka Kiprusoff and Simone Ammann, but a good quiz nonetheless.

A bit surprised so few got Maze. Well, a bit surprised at the overall low level of scores. I also agree that the time should've been like 3 minutes.

how do you have a guess the country of the medalist quiz based on the Olympics and not have a Swedish athlete.

26/26, with like 6 minutes to spare, shows me I watched way too much Olympics. I'm all with Commodore, I wish there was a clock counting down, like in hockey, in class or outrageous commentary on teaching strategies ...

Shouldn't this quiz be called "Countries by Olympic Medalist" rather than the other way around? You're guessing countries, given the names of their olympic medalists, right?

ffi: When I published it, it was under the title you see at the top of the page "Countries by Olympic Medalists." Take it up with the editors.

Along with Beijing, the best Olympic games I've seen. Although regarding this quiz, your selections could definitely be more varied. Way too much cross-country/Nordic combined on here.

I didn't watch more than 10 minutes of the Olympics and managed to get 13 of them just by guessing based on the most likely nationality of the name and one because her story was covered here in Canada and another because I'm an NHL fan.

No love for the curlers? There was so much coverage on CNBC/MSNBC that I think I could do reasonably well at matching the skips to their countries. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with four years of no curling to watch.

I believe Martins Dukurs is spelled with a 'k', not a 'c'. Other than that, nice quiz.
