Shorten to two minutes. Most people can name all fifty states in four minutes.

I'd agree w/gqb. Otherwise, very nice quiz!

One minute should be enough for sure. Anyone can just type all 50 states in 3 minutes and just as easily in 2 minutes.

I think two minutes is about right. Not everyone who plays these quizzes as from the States. For those of us who aren't it can be a bit of a challenge just to remember the names of the 50 states.

On a less punny note, this is way too much time. In 2 minutes, you could type all 50 states and see which ones it took.

Read this one out loud: One day a man saw an ad for a pun contest in his local newspaper. He sent in ten puns, hoping one would win. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.

@rolltidebama: N-deed, you have a point. But seeing as only a small percentage of people get all 17 states, I think that the timing is perfect as it is.

Good, fun quiz. However, I tried so many states which contained a N, damn it! MaiNe, South CaroliNa, MichigaN, etc. etc.

The equation that represents the percent chances that a state is: (Percent Guessed) = -1.6 * (Number of letters in the state name) + 93.77 the R-squared = 0.31

Great quiz! In my opinion this quiz would be perfect at 90 seconds. Yes I am aware that when you create a quiz you can't set a time limit that ends on the half minute. I think it is something sporcle could do as an improvement.

Great quiz, made even better by the fact that I thought I'd fail miserably but actually ended up getting them all. Obsessive Sporcling pays off!

Pah. Managed to get all of them except the two most common ones! Hoorah for being backwards? And as for the timing, it's perfect as it is, but I am British. It might be easier for most americans.

I once saw a license plate, "TEX4N", in Maryland. I told one of my Texan friends, and he responded, "In these parts, we don't like 4N-ers."
