| I had no idea what this quiz was about. |

| Horrible Histories are a series of non-fiction books written for children. The attraction is that they leave in all the gory bits like diseases and decapitations and what have you. |

| Are these books published in America, or are they just a UK phenomenon? |

| The great thing about this quiz is that most of the answers are alliteration, which means that even if you don't know the answer you can hazard a pretty good guess. Unfortunately it appears Terry Deary (the author) had great problems with adjectives beginning with 'E.' Though his solution to the 'N' answer was inspired. |

| My aunt gave me 'The Terrible Tudors' as a gift when abroad, and I enjoyed it so much my mom got me a bunch of others. "The Terrible Tudors" is probably the best of the ones I have read. |

| Brilliant, I love this quiz, I used to have a ton of these books as a kid. |

| You can find them in the US, especially now with Amazon - when I was little, we relied on trips to England (or visiting relatives) to stock up. |

| This would be a better quiz the other way round - given the group, provide their epithet according to the series. Otherwise one can just guess things. |

| I got The Rotten Romans at a book fair in something like 2nd grade. I think I still have it somewhere; it's a great book. |

Great quiz. @Turkey: Did you really just comment about your own comment? (If that makes sense?) |

| This quiz reminds me of a chapter of my life where I would anticipate the month's Scholastic Book Club forms and order yet another Horrible History book. Gosh, what a nerd I was back then.
Then again, with the amount of time I spend on this site, I suppose not much has changed. :P |

| Terry Deary is the best writer the Brits have produced since Shakespeare. His books were the greatest thing to happen to me when I was in elementary school. |

| @yodasmom: Horrible Histories are a series of children's history books, written by Terry Deary and published by Scholastic. Look them up on Amazon.
I think this really needs to be answered in order, otherwise it just becomes "name the civilisations/races/periods in history" - I thought it was "The Savage Saxons" but got the answer for "Smashing" instead. |

| What is "Horrible Histories"? And why is this a "great quiz"? |
