I liked this one a lot! It really got me thinking across different genres. You'll probably want to take "Sub-Mariner" for Namor. I'm trying to ponder how a comic could have Huey but not Dewey or Louie.

Can I suggest you move this to the Religion category? It would go to the top of the list and be more likely to survive and get new plays.

great idea. Funny how Wolverine was created in the late seventies and didn't have his own series till the 80's, but has surpassed characters who have had their own series since the 30's. Marvel really does puts him in every comic every week.

Paying the price for being a die-hard DC guy when I was growing up. What was I thinking?
Anyone else surprised not to see any Harvey characters here? For a while, it seemed like Richie Rich was in a couple dozen titles.

Why does Dick Grayson come up for Batman?

Grayson is Batman now. In any case, great quiz, I'm fascinated that Luthor, Joker and most of all Magneto aren't in over 1000. Although I'm rather proud of myself for getting Perry White.

Agree with JayHankEdLyon. It's amazing that Dr. Doom is the only villain on the list. As much as DC used the Joker back in the early days, and as much as Magneto pops up now, I'd have put money on them being here.

I was surprised by the lack of villains too at first, but now that I think about it it makes sense. Villains are mostly only going to show up in issues that center on them, while side characters like Perry White and Commissioner Gordon could have a single panel in just about any comic. I bet it would turn out differently if you could count the number of square inches of panel each character appeared in...

Also, your source has Iron Man in 2870 comics, not 2860 (which means he should actually split up Huey, Dewie, and Louie!)

I realise you're getting the list from a specific source, but I don't really understand how they decide a character qualifies. The Disney characters aren't in the 'superhero' genre, so why are characters such as Biffo the Bear, Korky the Cat etc (Beano, Dandy, and other UK comics) excluded? These characters would certainly have racked up over a thousand, as they were featured every week for decades. I'm not carping, I'm just curious. Anyone know?

Really fun quiz, didn't like that storm gave me The Human Torch, and Invisible Woman(I know why it did, but I would have preferred getting there myself without it handed to me for Storm) But awesome job, nomination from me.

Abanazerb: Quite simply, the source mostly ignores these characters. Dennis the Menace is listed on the site, but only has 56 appearences (obviously completely out). There seems to be no pattern to it, it's just a dodgy source.

Dennis the Menace is a comic strip character. It wouldn't make sense to combine them because comic strips don't even come in issues. Also, welcome to the newest member of the 1000+ Club as of today!

Oh I get it, so the whole comic has to be Dennis the Menace for it to count? Fair enough.

...and you should accept "Henry Pym" for "Hank Pym / ant-man / giant man / goliath / yellowjacket". I'm still trying to figure out what Louie was up to while Dewey and Huey were in those extra comics.

Cool! I got every one I knew, except Dr. Doom! But what does it say about me that I've never heard of Cyclops or Storm?
