	Well, it is mainly European big-government, high-tax countries (if you're taxed 3/4 of what you earn it's bound to create equality) and the more entrepreneurial ones like Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Monaco are not included. Then there's Eastern Europe, not quite sure about the reasons there. Plus a few outliers like Pakistan and Ethiopia with, as it seems, genuinely poor population throughout, without the "robber-barons".

	Pakistan is a surprise. The north border regions are largely undeveloped but Karachi and other major cities are quite progressive. I wonder if they're not counting the border regions for some reason.

	surely this is one quiz where Greenland would go against Denmark? I fail to believe that people would earn the same in Nuuk as they would in Copenhagen.

	Luxembourg was the big surprise for me on this list. As a small, pro-business place that's a global center of finance, I would have expected some fantastically well-off corporate types to skew their Gini coefficient. Eastern Europe I think comes from the fact that these countries are barely 20 years removed from socialism and haven't stratified as much, even after being thrown right into the capitalist world in the early 1990s.

	@crover: Greenland has a population of about 50,000, mainland Denmark has a population of 5.5 million. There are so few people in Greenland that it doesn't really affect the Gini. Also, the wages are only a little lower in Greenland. Depending on the job, I think the typical difference between the salary you would make in Copenhagen and Nuuk with the same job description is less than $1000. Greenland is a very expensive place to live and wages reflect that. So no, Greenland doesn't really go against Denmark here.

	Many of the countries towards the top of the list seem to come top in the happiness rankings as well, don't they? Just saying.

	@Crover and @Egernunge Actually, salaries are higher in Greenland than Copenhagen. I live in Arctic Canada and frequently travel to Nuuk.

	surprising that over 90% got Sweden and Norway but only 30% got Finland.
