| This is one of those "just for fun" quizzes, obviously. Not only can you not quantify something like patriotism, but the two factors examined in the survey (how proud respondents said they were to live in their respective countries, and whether they considered their own countries superior or inferior relative to other countries) are obviously tinged with cultural bias. People from some cultures might privately critize things about their own country, but would never publicly admit it in a survey. Other countries have severe reprecussions for public criticism. And patriotism doesn't necessarily mean that you think of yourselves as "better" than people from other countries; that's a clear US-oriented cultural bias, where competitiveness is part of the national psyche. They should rename this "America, F*CK yeah!" and be done with it. |
