Astonished that Kubrick is under 30%. Even if you didn't know his entire ouevre (as I didn't) surely you would guess him just in case??

paul verhoeven :) almost overlooked him he has done more than robocop however. A lot more (and we skipp showgirls, when mentioning him ok)

	There's so many better options than Proyas for the P one: Preminger, Pasolini, Powell & Pressburger, Pollack, Pabst, Polanski, Peckinpah, even Alex Payne (Election, Sideways) if you were looking for someone more current. Compared to those eight, Proyas is a complete hack, and none of them are "gimmees."

	OK everyone, warm up your down-arrow fingers: It seems everyone has a complaint, but I didn't see anyone say "when I wrote this quiz, and spent a lot of time thinking about how to get a good mix of directors, my list was way different." Nope, something more like "had I bothered, I would have..." Well, thanks for the effort, DarkPhalanx!

	Would it have been so very difficult to put one woman on the list? It's not like Boyle and Nolan are such amazingly important directors that you just have to put them over Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) and Nair (Vanity Fair, The Namesake). (On the other hand, as much as I love Chadha and Campion, I think the decision to put Coppola instead of either of them would at least be defensible. Cameron, not so much.)

	kthejoker - Well, I'd actually rank both directors about equally - Ichikawa's "The Burmese Harp", "Fires on the Plain", and "Alone Across the Pacific" are all incredible films. "Revenge of a Kabuki Actor" was also very good.
