I think there's too much time on the clock. Even though I didn't get them all, I got most of the ones I knew by the time it hit 5:00.

I would HAVE (I understand English) liked it better if the answers were in alphabetical order.

it was in periodic table order, which helped when I wondered what was between gold and lead having the noble gases reminded my of halogens, which gave me a "footing" for the rest Nice quiz! love the ordering!

I agree with simpleerrors -- periodic table order was helpful. I also agree with cjc (who does understand English, but just made a common typo) -- sulphur is an acceptable (although chiefly British) alternate spelling of sulfur.

Actually chemists have now decided that 'sulphur' will be spelled 'sulfur' in the UK and Americans should pronouce Aluminium with its second 'I'. But I agree that so soon after this 'change' it should be accepted as an answer.

The title needs fixing. "Elements *not* ending in 'um'", maybe?

Sulphur is the uk spelling for of sulfur so you should accept it - also the title needs changing. good quiz though.

Great idea for a quiz! eurythmech, having them in periodic table order was MUCH more helpful than alphabetical order would have been.

Speaking of order, Astatine and Radon are in reverse order at the end.

Thank you, chemistry class. Not that I really learned anything, but I spent long hours spacing out staring at the periodic table. I pretty much have the thing memorized, and that's about all I ever took away from college.

@pbrown, I agree that having the elements put in order made this quiz much easier, but it also helped that I would spend hours on the original periodic table quiz until I had the whole dang thing memorized. I got this one on my first try.

Tom Lehrer's periodic table song is surprisingly helpful here:
There’s antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium,
And hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium
...
And argon, krypton, neon, radon, xenon, zinc and rhodium
And chlorine, carbon, cobalt, copper, tungsten, tin and sodium.

Got 'em all with 2:29 to spare. Which is weird, because I think that's only ever happened once for me. I rarely get everything. I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF!
