The Texas Rangers' stadium is in Arlington Texas. It's called the Ballpark in Arlington. Also, Santa Ana, Fort Worth, Tucson, Long Beach and Newark are all in metropolitan areas with a major team.

oops thought they were in dallas for some reason, but just because those cities are within the metropolitan area doesnt mean the team represents those cities.for example you wouldnt say the Red Sox represent Cambridge, MA (sorry i cant think of a better example)

I was about to make the same comment on Arlington, but between the time I saw the ones I missed and when I got to the results page, it had disappeared, making my results all wonky of course, but good job responding promptly and correcting it. This was a cool idea for a quiz; having repeatedly played the States' Most Populous Cities quiz helped a lot, as well as the Most Populous Cities by letter of the alphabet quiz.

@DanW: Yes you would. You wouldn't say they represent Cambridge specifically, but I think it's fair to say they do represent Cambridge. Similarly, I think the most significant factor in Long Beach, Mesa, and Fort Worth not having their own teams is their being part of a metro area which has teams "for them." As for Newark, the Devils play there now (and I would argue that even when they played in East Rutherford they disqualified Newark from this list).

I agree completely with marpocky. You can't count immediate suburbs like Aurora, Long Beach, etc. as not having teams. Perhaps it would be better to make it a largest metro areas without a team quiz? But great idea overall.

I was going to mention Newark, but marpocky beat me to it. It's not even a "metro area" argument- a team plays there, period.

There's inconsistency here as well. St. Paul, MN should be on the list if Long Beach, Fort Worth, etc are. A good idea for a quiz though.

@hscer: Actually, the Wild play in St. Paul

So they do. Shows what I know about hockey. I had assumed they played in the same arena as the T-Wolves.

Great quiz. I hate the fact that BOTH Virginia Beach AND Norfolk have no major sports team and have to show up on this quiz. They border each other. Combined population of 659660. Then toss in Chesapeake (pop. 220560), Suffolk (81332) and Portsmouth (101377) and you have 5 cities that all border each other with a combined population of 1,062,929 with NO major sports team. And that's not even INCLUDING Hampton (145,579) or Newport News (181913), which are just a tunnel's drive away from Norfolk (maybe 15-20 miles) which brings a total population of roughly 1.4 MILLION without a major sports team. ok, I am dont complaining :P Again, awesome quiz

Good quiz, but Louisville has almost tripled in size since the 2000 Census due to consolidation with Jefferson County (713,877 as of the 2008 official estimate).
