Lexington, Mass. is not larger than Lexington, Ky. Also, you need to correct Centerville.

Thanks! I made the corrections. I overlooked Lex, Ky because the census combines it with the population for Fayette County.

Great, now we know what to guess when we get stuck on the largest-by-state quizzes... I would have expected Lakeland, Lakewood or something like that to make the list though.

There are actually only 8 Lakewoods and 6 each of Lakeside and Lakeview, so they still have a ways to go to make the list.

Great quiz. As I live in a country where 90% of the placenames go back over 1,000 years, I find it fascinating that so many US places are so recent as to be named after 19th Century presidents. (I assume the 25 Clintons predate Bill though?!)

Most of the Clintons were named for DeWitt Clinton, an early governor of New York State and US Senator from the same state.

Clinton's Ditch, baby! (sorry, that's the Erie Canal) I'm surprised "Buffalo" isn't on there... I notice a lot of Buffalos and New Buffalos, although that might be just because I'm from there and I tend to notice them more than others.

I was pleasantly surprised when I typed in the name of the town I grew up in (Benton). Not only was it an answer, but the largest one is the one I was from!

Springfield being the second most guessed can be attributed almost entirely to The Simpsons.

Great quiz. I was just wondering, how many cities have to have the same name to be considered "common"? If it was only two or more, you could do Portland (Oregon and Maine). From reading the comments, though, it seems like it is more than just two...

Great quiz! I actually think it would be better with another minute or two, though. Just me?

Very cool quiz. More time might have helped, though I thought of several answers that were good and rejected them without trying..shame on me.

I'm pretty sure (Wikipedia is the source) that there are 17 Glendales.

Great quiz! I wonder how the results would change if we counted CDPs, villages, boroughs, and other place names.

Interesting that only 12.4% (as of this time) got Canton despite Stephen Colbert's whole gig about it.

Overall good, but Milton and Spencer, MA aren't cities, they're towns. I think the census may be confused, though, because the requirements for a city in New England are much more stringent than most of the country.

This quiz is seriously flawed. The numbers are way too high in most cases. For example, there are only 17 cities named Franklin in the United States, not 31. Source: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/SAFFPopulation?_event=Search&_name=Franklin&_state=&_county=Franklin&_cityTown=Franklin&_zip=&_sse=on&_lang=en&pctxt=fph
