Good one. Shocked by Nepal's absence, it was my first guess!

Yeah, me too. Guess they have a coast, somehow.

I also really wanted Nepal. I just checked the CIA Factbook and its lowest point is Kanchan Kalan at 70 meters, so it just missed the list. Laos also has a low point of 70m on the Mekong River.

Love the quiz, Dagobert. Few things, though. Typo on Czech Republic, which is 115m. And two additions: Kosovo at 297m and Kyrgyzstan at 132m. Would be cool to have Nepal as a bonus answer, since I would bet most people are going to guess it.

I tried Nepal 3 times, plus about 5 different alternative spellings :) Good quiz!

I had always though of Nepal and Bhutan as "high" countries, though for sure that Chad was near if not below sea level. THat should teach me not to take anything for granted. It all ended up with me guessing every landlocked county though.

@HudsonHawk: tnx for the feedback! Fixed them all :-) @All: Nepal is now an option. If anyone has a clue how to fix that it remains an secret answer, but it does reveil the altitude please let me know. It's 70m as said above.

Wow, Lesotho's lowest point is higher than the highest point in the UK.

Nepal is surprisingly diverse geographically--everyone thinks "Himalayas," but it's got a good strip of lowland on the border with India.

I was sure it was either Nepal, Bhutan, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, or Austria. Never would have guessed that Lesotho would've been #1...

Very interesting! Not only is Nepal off the list, but it's almost the only landlocked country to be so! @Dagobert: afaik it's not possible to have a bonus answer display anything in the third column, but you could just put the altitude to display in the main answer column or the hint column, eg specify the answer as "Nepal (70m)/Nepal" or something?

I guess I'm the only one who was shocked that Bolivia was not on the list? At 90m, its lowest point is only 4m lower than the 25th place; much closer than Nepal!

@Spacecow - Bolivia was my first guess too The real shock, for me, was Luxembourg, given that it is called one of the 'Low countries'!

I was surprised at the absence of Nepal and Bolivia too. Not so surprised about Luxembourg and Lesotho though. Love this quiz.

It would be interesting to add bonus answers not just for Nepal, but for other close countries (like perhaps #26-30)

nepal, along with bhutan, have very hot, humid, lowlands in their southern halves, hence their absence
