	This quiz goes right back to the very first international football match ever played, between England and Scotland in 1872. That match was a draw, but in the second international match ever, England beat Scotland to become the first Unofficial Football World Champions. Since then, every time the reigning champion has played an international match, the UFWC has been at stake. The title changes hands only when the reigning champion is beaten. Teams receive one point for winning a UFWC title match (whether as challenger or champion.) No points are awarded for a draw. Point totals have been combined for sides that have officially played under different names and are recognised as doing so by FIFA - I've tried to include both names as accepted answers and I hope I haven't missed any!

	Brilliant quiz. I couldn't believe Zimbabwe (and seven at that) actually gave me a correct mark, then was astounded to see Angola but moreso Netherland Antilles. Worth featuring.

	Czech Republic and Czechslovakia have both held it but aren't the same thing. Apparently, according to FIFA Serbia is indeed the correct answer for Yugoslavia which I find ludicrous.

	@Dave Besag - as per the last sentence of my first comment, records have been combined from one country to another as countries have split/merged/changed - so the Czechoslovakia record is officially passed to the Czech Republic, and the Yugoslavia record is officially passed to Serbia. Same with USSR/Russia and West Germany/Germany. It seems a bit unfair on the likes of Ukraine, Slovakia, Croatia etc etc etc, but there it is!

	@Bleu : The Netherlands are the current champions, they have held the title since defeating previous holders Sweden 3-1 on 19th November 2008, this run of 11 successful defences has included wins over Scotland (twice), Macedonia, Iceland, Norway and Japan, and draws with Tunisia, England, Australia, Italy and Paraguay (these last three are their most recent internationals and have all resulted in 0-0 draws.) The next defence of their title will be on 3rd March 2010 against the USA at Amsterdam Arena.

	To update: By my reckoning it passed to Spain in the World Cup final, then to Argentina (beating Spain 4-1, 7th Sept 2010) and now Japan (beating Argentina 1-0, 8th Oct 2010.

	Updated to the end of the Asian Cup, on the 29th January 2011. PatrickH's updates are correct, and Japan have held the title since then, right through the Asian Cup (which they won.)

	The Democratic People's Republic of Korea took the title from Japan today. Truly the greatest nation on Earth.
