	Technically, the former Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore in 1996 and became the Ravens. Cleveland then filed suit against the NFL and it was settled by the NFL awarding a new franchise to Cleveland, which then retained the Cleveland Browns history. The new Cleveland Browns started up in 1999 after 4 years of non-existence.

	@amwoods13: This I know, and I figured someone would point it out. The NFL has essentially revised history to pretend that the Browns were just inactive for 3 seasons. Since they officially consider the new Browns to be the same as the old Browns, I follow their lead here. Thus the Ravens are treated an expansion franchise, even though they're really not.

	i agree as well...the nfl and the city of cleveland cant just pretend that the team didnt play. They moved and became the ravens, and the current browns are really only 12 years old

	The Thunder began as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1967.

	the thunder are a weird one. they technically don't own the rights to the SuperSonics name or uni's, but they own the team records, and if another Seattle SuperSonics were to ever exist they would share the records....odd. Thunder would be a good bonus answer maybe

	Yes, I suppose if the NBA created a new Seattle SuperSonics, they might do what the NFL did with the Browns and act as if the Thunder were a completely new franchise. Until then, though, the Thunder are considered a continuation of the SuperSonics.

	The Coyotes are going back to Winnipeg, the Thrashers aren't leaving Atlanta and were new on there own.

	You have all the teams that came over from the WHA wrong. The Oilers, Avalanche, Coyotes and Hurricanes all joined the NHL in 1979. I suppose you could say the teams were formed in 1972 in the WHA, but that really isn't what your quiz is asking.

	The quiz is not about when each franchise joined their current league, but rather about when each franchise was formed, even if in was in a different or defunct "major" league. So the WHA franchises which survived the merger are considered here to have formed in 1972.

	Once again I was stumped on both the MLB and NBA.
