- Enter a player (last names acceptable) in the box below
- Correctly named players will show up below
- Answers do not have to be guessed in order
- Source: Baseball Reference
- Total WAR is used here (= Off. WAR + Def. WAR + Pit. WAR). WAR figures in quiz include ONLY seasons in and teams on which the player wore that number, not necessarily the player's entire career WAR.
- Team listed with a player is the one with which they played the most games wearing that number. -- Range of seasons are the first and last years the player had that number, whether or not they played on the team listed in all of those years or also wore a different number within that range. -- MLB players began wearing uniform numbers in 1929. As such, Babe Ruth is NOT in this quiz, since he spent most of his career (1915-28, 138.3 WAR) without a number. He wore #3 only from 1929-35 (51.7 WAR). -- The quiz stops at #57 because no players with numbers higher than that have 35 or more WAR. So unusual numbers like #0, #00, #09, or #99 didn't make the cut. -- Press F11 if you can't see the whole quiz.
