| I thought about making this same quiz, then stopped when I realized how untrustworthy any numbers I could come up with would be. For example, if you use metropolitan area populations, you will find that some cities have metropolitan areas that spill over into other states such as New York and Providence. In fact, Providence's metropolitan area is technically more populous than the state of Rhode Island. If you don't use metropolitan areas, cities like Atlanta are misrepresented. Atlanta's city population is only about 540000, 33rd largest in America, but it's metro area has a population of well over 5 million, 8th largest in America, and accounts for over half of all residents of Georgia. I assume you decided to go with strictly city population, which is fine and I'm not trying to say your quiz is invalid, I just think these numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. |
