| This isn't a quiz about a real sports league. Rather, it's present-day Major League Baseball from an alternate timeline of my own invention (for an overview of alternate history, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_history). This timeline diverged from ours in 1889, when the Sabbatarian effort to ban Sunday baseball (which in reality succeeded) failed. This change of events resulted in the American Association surviving to the present rather than collapsing after the 1891 season. What proceeds from there in the alternate timeline is a matter of conjecture; in this case, my own conjecture (along with a little creative license, of course). In the alternate 2010, Major League Baseball consists of the National League and American Association, the highest ranking North American baseball leagues. The top-tier minor leagues, the Eastern League and Western League, contain (between them) an affiliate farm team for each of the 32 major league teams. To reveal all the teams, just type in as many large cities in the US and Canada that you can think of. Remember, this quiz is just for fun. Let me know what you think of my alternate MLB. Questions are welcome. |
