@uinfuirudo: not for the next two decades. The population projections that appear in the International Data Base of the U.S. Census Bureau are: 2010, 1.330 billion; 2020, 1.385 bln; 2030, 1.391 bln. Only later there is a decrease, namely 2040, 1.359 bln and 2050, 1.304 bln.

@pwoody229: several other European languages, Spanish among them, reverse the U.S. English use of commas and decimals in numbering, so it's not a mistake, just a different method of writing. Kind of like "European 7's" have a bar through them, whereas "American 7's" look like the ones typed here!
