@burton: maybe not, they are part of the university of california system, often abbreviated Cal. They are a part of the California State system. That being said, I think Northridge, etc. should be accepted seeing as they are the only D-I schools with those cities in their name.

UC Davis is, as the name implies, a member of the UC system, not the Cal State system. More abbreviations need to be accepted, though --- CSUN, for example, is what just about everybody calls it. LBSU or CSULB should be taken for Cal State Long Beach ("Cal State Long Beach," too).

Yeah, it's very inconsistent right now. "Long Beach" worked, but "Northridge" and "CSUN" didn't. Also UOP is the common abbreviation for Pacific.

Also there are two "Cal Poly"s. The one in the Big West is in San Luis Obispo. There is another one in Pomona.
