nice quiz, but you need to take singular for a lot of these. Center field should work for center fielder.

I agree with above - need to accept singular or plural (strikeout, for example) ... And, varied ways of saying things. I tried everything I could think of for WHIP, but never put "per" -- "Walks plus hits over/divided by innings pitched..."

Good idea, but poor set up. First off, BOS, SEA, NYM, etc. are not acronyms, just abbreviations for cities. And because you did use team names, don't use SF and TB when they could be used for the Giants and Rays respectively.

agreed with others... i sat there for a minute bewildered at why you wouldn't take strikeout for K. i've never seen WL as win/loss percentage either - usually it's used for a pitcher's actual win/loss record.

WHIP is usually walks plus hits per innings pitched

Typed in Center Field and it didn't work, typed in Win loss percentage and also didn't work... weird. Loved the quiz other than that though. Would have gotten a 100%.

i agree with the layout comment. put the teams in one place and not just in the middle.

"Stolen base" not counting for "Stolen bases"? "On base + slugging" not counting for "On-base percentage plus slugging percentage"? This is a very ticky-tack quiz, and thus, is hard to enjoy.

The name is misleading, it should be "Baseball Acronyms." Agree with all other commenters, there is definitely work to be done on this quiz.

This is a good start. However I tried "on base plus slugging percentage" and didn't get it because I didn't have "percentage" after "on base". If you're going to use win/loss percentage, that should be W/L.

Needs a lot more variability in the possible answer choices. If you have K, that suggests a singular, and thus strikeout, not strikeouts. In addition, you take "first base" and "third base" but then require "center fielder." Additions are needed.

I agree with all of the above. These aren't all acronyms, most are just abbreviations. You need to include singulars. You should accept "walks plus hits per inning pitched" and "on base plus slugging" and "on base plus slugging percentage."

1B could also be first baseman. Thats what I tried first. I mean, when it didnt come up, I went to single...but I concur with the need to accept viable alternates.

Needs some work, but it's a good idea. I knew WHIP but couldn't get the phrase exactly right -- should take "walks plus hits" as well as "walks and hits".

This is a fun quiz (got all but one! I knew WHIP was a pitching thing, but didn't know what it stood for.) However, many of these aren't acronyms: not just the teams (which didn't seem to fit the rest of the quiz) but things like AVG, SV, etc., which are abbreviations. Maybe this could be called "Baseball Lingo" instead? Or is that too broad?

or maybe "Baseball Statistics Lingo," if you take out a few of these.

ops and whip are the two least guessed (and both under 50%). while it may be unfair to make sweeping generalizations based on such a small sample size, this at least further evidence that most baseball fans are complete morons. hopefully, in the future, good baseball moms and dads wont teach their children such dirty words as "clutch," "win-loss record," and "david eckstein."

Great quiz - I really enjoyed it! I didn't have any trouble with it not taking my answers - maybe you've already fixed the things people were complaining about; then again, maybe it's because I didn't even have a guess for WHIP or OPS!

I knew OPS and WHIP, but the way I phrased it didn't jive with what the quiz wanted.

I think it would be better to stick to scoring symbols, and also it would be a nice touch to differentiate between swinging strikeout and looking strikeout if you can manage a backwards K

I can't believe i'm the first nerd to say this but slugging average is more accurate, so should also be accepted.

I couldn't come up with the correct phrasing for WHIP, dammit. I was so close! Anyway, I wanted to suggest that "AB" should accept "at bat" as a singular, please.

Yeah WHIP was the only thing that tripped me up. I like the quiz. Why not throw some tougher statistical acronyms in like WAR or WPA

i agree with DPerrone99. Someone should make another quiz for sabermetric terms. i would love to see people struggle with VORP and EQA!

Fun quiz. Would be better if you stuck to statistical abbreviations and not teams. Also WHIP could be just "walks hits innings pitched".

yeah, you should make more options acceptable for WHIP, I couldn't get the exact phrasing right no matter what I tried.

A couple things 1) I would get rid of team/league abbreviations and stick with the "stats" as listed in the title 2) I would add some sabermetric stats such as ERA+ or VORP or even stuff such as K/IP, PB, or CI. Basically, get rid of the team abbreviations. Go to hell loser Red Sox fans, btw!

htimsetan is right about WHIP. I eventually got it right though. I missed CG, GS and OPS. I knew OPS, I just couldn't the right words out, like WHIP. I just gave up on it, unlike I did with WHIP.

SS could also be Split Squad, like in Spring Training games.
