Considered it, but that would spoil the quiz- Most people know which countries include California, Ontario, and England. The idea is to guess which countries HAVE the most populated subdivisions.

I think this would work better if you had to guess the subdivision, not the country. Otherwise, all you have to do is just guess the most populous countries of the world until you get them all.

What is the 'Home Country'? If you mean Home Counties then I seriously doubt the rest of the country accounts for as little as 11 million of the total population of the UK.

The "Home Countries" of the UK are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They have a constitution status (very) approximately similar to "States" in Canada, the USA or India. "Counties" are local administrative units, similar to US Counties or Indian districts. The "Home Counties" are (broadly) those counties which border London.
